Let Go of the Outcome, Hold Fast to Obedience
This week, I tried recording a video several times—and nothing went as planned. I kept getting distracted, interrupted, and frustrated. But maybe that’s exactly the point.
Sometimes we need the reminder: the outcome isn’t on us.
In 1 Corinthians 3:5–9, Paul reminds the church that some are called to plant, some to water—but it’s God who gives the growth.
That truth is freeing—but also confronting.
How often do we make someone else’s spiritual progress—or lack of it—about ourselves? I know I’ve done that. But Scripture doesn’t call us to carry that weight. We’re co-laborers with Christ, not the ones who make seeds grow.
If you’re feeling discouraged by the spiritual state of someone you love—or even your own walk with God—pause here.
Breathe.
You are not the Savior.
You are not the source.
Your role is obedience. The results belong to the Lord.
I shared more of this message in a recent YouTube video, and if you’d like to reflect on this passage more deeply, I’ve also posted some reflection questions on Instagram. You can find them @goodsoilcoaching.
Keep showing up. Keep trusting the Gardener. He sees.
